Solid Modeling / NURBS
Aeroplane propeller lofted over sections utilizing tangencies of Nonuniform Rational B-Spline (NURBS) surfaces in AutoCAD © for a class I taught . The sections were defined in-place on User Coordinate Systems. The complex, free-form nature of the surfaces are manufactured utilizing CAD / CAM methods on Numerically Controlled machines. Additionally, the solid model is used for Computational Fluid Dynamics.
Representational Drawing for Part Number Release
Non Uniform Rational B-Spline surfaces defining a solid model of an aeroplane propeller. Multi-view drawing with shaded views, and sections (see next slide) shown both in-place and removed. There are no dimensions, as the solid model would be used to generate an N/C tool-path for manufacturing, most likely on a 5-axis mill.
